Hi, my name is Jacqueline White (although I tend to get called Jacqui / Jackie), and I have been a Registered Childminder since 1999. As you can imagine, during this time I have cared for a number of children - all of various ages, temperament, demands, etc - patience, love and flexibility are an important part of the care I provide.
I have my First Aid Certificate and Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene. I am also working towards a Degree in Early Years with the Open University, having successfully gained my Foundation Degree.
I live with my husband Andrew and two children - my daughter was born in June 1991 and son in December, 1995.
I am Registered to care for 6 children from birth to eight years of age, but can also provide care for children over and above. I have gained a lot of experience and pleasure in caring for children and appreciate that each child is unique, and has a lot to give. A copy of my latest inspection report (2013) is available to prospective parents.
I have been a member of the Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years (PACEY - formerly the National Childminding Association) since registering, and have supported the N.S.P.C.C. for a number of years.
I have run a local Parent & Toddler group at Park Methodist Church - until the sale of the Church meant that another home was required. I have also run / helped Clervaux Nursery Schools Parent & Toddler group, where I was also Chair of Governors. As this Nursery is close by, it is one which parents may choose to send their children to, particularly as I collect / drop-off at Jarrow Cross (JMI) School. I am currently a parent governor at Hebburn Comprehensive School.
As I have been involved with Clervaux Nursery School, I became interested in the High Scope Approach to Learning and Care, and have attended a High Scope for Childminders evening course. High Scope recognises that all children are unique, and encourages them to make informed decisions, from a very early age. I am also extremely interested in the work of Reggio Emilio, believing in child led learning - you may have heard of the "100 languages of children" exhibition and Montessori (hoping to complete a Montessori training course).
I have lots of activities and resources to help your child have an enjoyable time - Learning through Play - some of which can be seen via link.
